ASME Pipe Welder – Stainless Steel (MIG & Flux Core)
We are seeking a skilled ASME Pipe Welder specializing in stainless steel fabrication to support vessel and piping projects across multiple industries. This position focuses on producing high-quality welds using stainless MIG and Flux-Cored processes while maintaining strict compliance with ASME code requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate stainless steel pipe and vessel components in accordance with ASME codes and project specifications
- Perform stainless steel welding using MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Cored (FCAW) processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, and technical drawings to determine weld requirements
- Select, set up, and adjust welding machines, consumables, and tools appropriate for stainless applications
- Prepare materials through cleaning, grinding, and fit-up prior to welding
- Inspect completed welds to verify quality, accuracy, and code compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
- Coordinate with shop and project team members to meet schedules and production goals
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing ASME code welding on vessels and piping
- Proven experience welding stainless steel using MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Cored (FCAW) methods
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform shop-based welding tasks
- Working knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and welding equipment
