Position Overview
Summit Skilled Solutions is hiring an experienced Commercial Carpenters for ongoing projects throughout Northeast Ohio. This position involves commercial construction work including tenant build-outs, renovations, retail, office, healthcare, and light industrial projects.
The ideal candidate is dependable, skilled in multiple aspects of commercial carpentry, and able to work independently or as part of a crew to meet production and quality standards.
Commercial Carpenter Job Scope
• Metal stud framing (walls, bulkheads, soffits)
• Hanging and finishing drywall
• Installation of acoustical ceiling grid and tile (ACT)
• Installation of doors, frames, and hardware
• Layout and framing based on blueprints and field measurements
• Rough and finish carpentry work
• Blocking, backing, and specialty framing
• Install millwork, trim, and casework as required
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts as needed
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Follow all jobsite safety standards and OSHA guidelines
Commercial Carpenter Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience
• Strong experience with metal stud framing and drywall
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficient with commercial carpentry hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation to various job sites in Northeast Ohio
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift
Commercial Carpenter Preferred Qualifications
• Experience installing acoustical ceiling systems
• Experience in healthcare, retail, or office build-outs
• Experience operating scissor lifts or boom lifts
• OSHA 10 preferred but not required
Work Environment
• Active commercial construction sites
• Indoor and occasional outdoor work
• Consistent 40-hour work week
• First shift schedule (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
