Location: Albuquerque, NM 87101
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM (1st Shift)
Pay: $25 – $30 per hour
The Commercial Maintenance Technician is responsible for delivering efficient, high-quality maintenance services to multiple commercial properties within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves traveling to various customer sites using a company-provided vehicle and tools to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds.
The technician will utilize a variety of trade skills—including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and basic HVAC—to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues while maintaining a professional and customer-focused environment.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs according to work order requirements.
Conduct general building maintenance including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, and minor construction tasks.
Perform minor plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets and urinals, replacing valves and faucet fixtures, and servicing automatic flush systems.
Conduct minor electrical maintenance within state guidelines, including repairing or replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets.
Maintain and repair facility components including walls, floors, doors, and other structural elements.
Complete service inspections and asset inspections as required.
Ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
Utilize company technology (tablet or smartphone) to:
Access and complete work orders
Document work performed with notes and images
Submit service reports, quality inspections, timesheets, and expense reports
Procure necessary materials and supplies to complete assigned work orders.
Maintain clear communication with customers and internal teams to ensure service excellence.
Provide estimates for larger repair or improvement projects as needed.
Participate in required safety training and weekly safety meetings.
Follow all company procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Trade certifications or technical training in areas such as Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Landscaping, or Specialty Floor Care preferred.
Experience
2–5 years of general maintenance experience.
Experience performing minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building repairs.
Experience working in commercial maintenance or facilities services environments preferred.
Any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform building trade duties will be considered.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
Relevant trade certifications or licenses preferred where applicable.
Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair common facility maintenance issues.
Proficiency using handheld devices and digital work order systems.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
Ability to travel locally between customer properties daily.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
