Conveyor Service Technician
Summit Skilled Solutions is currently hiring a full-time Direct Hire Conveyor Service Technician based in New Jersey, responsible for maintaining conveyor equipment across multiple FedEx facilities in NY and NJ. Here’s a breakdown of the position:
Conveyor Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Installation and repair of conveyor belts (including lacing).
- Tracking and maintenance of conveyor belts.
- Replacement of power and idler rollers, pulleys, bearings, drive chains, gearboxes, and motors.
- Alignment and replacement of sprockets.
- Conducting and documenting system audits.
- Evaluating safety equipment and conveyor transport functionality.
- Ensuring proper lubrication and functionality of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
- Accurate submission of time sheets and expenses.
- Advising customers and internal personnel on parts sales.
- Submitting specifications and reports for audits, repairs, and parts.
- Maintenance of company vehicle.
Conveyor Service Technician Requirements:
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices.
- Experience in conveyor or other equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency with power and hand tools.
- Strong communication skills (phone, in person, email, text).
- Ability to complete OSHA training and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment repair (preferred).
- Millwright experience, including welding and fabrication (a plus).
Conveyor Service Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in English (verbal and written).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work irregular hours as needed.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
- Ability to uphold safety standards and industry requirements.
Conveyor Service Technician Compensation/Benefits:
- Pay: $35/hr
