Job Title: Day Porter
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Compensation: $24 – $27 per hour
Position Overview:
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a dedicated and reliable Day Porter to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in janitorial services, with a preference for those familiar with clinical or healthcare settings. This role requires attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document daily inspections of interior and exterior building areas
- Perform general janitorial duties, including:
- Trash collection and disposal
- Restroom cleaning and stocking
- Mopping and buffing hard surface floors
- Vacuuming and dusting
- Daily disinfection of high-touch surfaces
- Spot cleaning as needed
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and consumables
- Provide cleaning services in clinical areas in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Assist with minor building maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and restocking supplies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 2–4 years of janitorial or custodial experience; clinical/healthcare cleaning experience preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Clean driving record
- Skills:
- Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers) and hand tools
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and Material Safety Data Sheets
- Strong reliability and punctuality, including working in varying weather conditions
- Basic technical skills for email communication, report completion, and use of CMMS/Work Order systems
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in English
- Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
