Long Island, NY – Conveyor Service Technician $35/HR
Summit Skilled Solutions is currently hiring a full-time Conveyor Service Technician based in or around the Long Island, NY area who responsible for maintaining conveyor equipment across multiple FedEx facilities in NY and NJ. This is a Direct Hire position from day directly with contractor.
Conveyor Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Installation & repair of conveyor belts of all kinds (includes lacing)
- Tracking of conveyor belts of all kinds
- Replacing power & idler rollers, pulleys, and bearings (includes drive chains)
- Replacing gearboxes and motors.
- Replacing & aligning sprockets
- Ability to conduct and document system audits
- Ability to evaluate safety equipment (such as guards and rails) to determine proper installation and functionality
- Ability to evaluate conveyor transport to confirm proper functionality
- Ability to evaluate proper lubrication
- Ability to evaluate and confirm that all pneumatic & hydraulic equipment is functioning properly
Conveyor Service Technician Requirements:
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices.
- Experience in conveyor or other equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency with power and hand tools.
- Strong communication skills (phone, in person, email, text).
- Ability to complete OSHA training and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment repair (preferred).
- Millwright experience, including welding and fabrication (a plus).
Conveyor Service Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient in English (verbal and written).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work irregular hours as needed.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
- Ability to uphold safety standards and industry requirements.
Conveyor Service Technician Compensation/Benefits:
- $35/hr BOE
