Position Overview

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee field operations and lead project teams on commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for directing all on-site activities, ensuring schedule compliance, maintaining quality standards, enforcing safety protocols, and supporting overall project cost control.

The Project Superintendent serves as the primary field leader and works closely with the Project Manager and executive leadership to deliver projects efficiently and professionally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of project drawings, specifications, prime contracts, and subcontract agreements.

  • Monitor and manage project schedules daily, coordinating field operations to ensure work meets quality standards and complies with plans and specifications.

  • Compile subcontractor labor reports and produce detailed daily construction reports, including workforce activity, work-in-place, weather conditions, and significant site events.

  • Support the Project Manager in maintaining and reviewing project cost reports and budget performance.

  • Organize, schedule, and lead weekly coordination meetings and other required project meetings.

  • Enforce and maintain the project safety plan, including conducting regular jobsite safety meetings in accordance with project requirements.

  • Schedule and supervise field personnel while monitoring labor productivity and cost performance.

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate assigned staff, delegating responsibilities appropriately based on skill level and experience.

  • Administer field changes, ensuring proper authorization and documentation of change orders, time and material tickets, shipping receipts, and invoices.

  • Assist with schedule development, project estimates, lump sum bids, budgets, and construction planning as directed.

  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices and applications for payment; collaborate with accounting on preparation of project billing.

  • Support bid analysis and scope reviews during project buyout.

  • Assist with accounts receivable follow-up and financial oversight as needed.

  • Manage field operations to protect company interests while maintaining positive working relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Support project closeout activities, including documentation collection, warranty tracking, final payment processing, and record retention.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of formal engineering or architectural training and at least two years of construction experience; additional field leadership experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, field operations, line and grade, and foundational engineering principles.

  • Understanding of project cost control and accounting processes.

  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, and building systems.

  • Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling platforms.

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
