Job Title: Mechanical Conveyor Installer / Conveyor Mechanic

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Conveyor Installers / Conveyor Mechanics to support the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of conveyor and material handling systems in industrial, distribution, and manufacturing environments. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on installation experience, and the ability to work safely in fast-paced project settings. Projects start in April.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain their R-8 Limited Conveyor Journeyperson License and complete required licensing training by June if they do not currently hold the credential.
Install, assemble, and align conveyor systems including belt, roller, chain, drag, screw, and pallet handling systems
Perform mechanical installation of conveyor frames, supports, drives, motors, reducers, bearings, and shafts
Set and align pulleys, sprockets, rollers, and drive components to manufacturer tolerances
Perform belt tracking, splicing, tensioning, and system adjustments
Install conveyor supports, structural steel, catwalks, and guarding systems
Execute mechanical tear-outs and retrofits of existing conveyor systems
Conduct preventative maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting on conveyor equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical failures including bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, and drive assemblies
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, layout plans, and installation schematics
Utilize precision measuring tools to verify alignment and installation tolerances
Work at heights using lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and fall protection systems
Collaborate with electricians, project managers, and other trades to ensure proper system installation and startup
Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, including LOTO procedures
3+ years of conveyor installation or mechanical industrial experience preferred
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and material handling equipment
Experience with belt conveyors, roller conveyors, chain-driven systems, or automated material handling systems
Proficient with hand and power tools including impacts, torque wrenches, band saws, grinders, and precision alignment tools
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and layout prints
Comfortable working in industrial environments, including elevated platforms and tight spaces
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work extended hours as required by project schedules
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable transportation and ability to travel as required
All employees must either:
Currently hold an R-8 Limited Conveyor Journeyperson License, OR
Be willing and able to enroll in and complete the required R-8 Limited Conveyor Journeyperson licensing training by June.
Continued employment is contingent upon participation in and successful completion of this licensing requirement if not already licensed.
Experience working in distribution centers, fulfillment centers, manufacturing facilities, or large-scale industrial construction
Experience with system commissioning and startup support
Forklift, scissor lift, or boom lift certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Industrial and warehouse environments
Work performed indoors and occasionally outdoors
Exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project demands
