Compensation: $29.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a qualified Electrician to support facility operations at the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation in Suffolk, VA. This role focuses on advanced electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility systems while supporting overall building maintenance needs. The Electrician will work closely with site leadership to ensure high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction in a professional, mission-critical environment.
Communicate effectively with site leadership to determine service needs and priorities
Coordinate and oversee client subcontractors performing on-site services
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
Respond to electrical service issues including lighting repairs, bulb replacements, circuit failures, and new installations
Monitor and make adjustments to building automation systems as required
Complete a wide range of corrective maintenance work orders in a timely manner
Assist other skilled trades personnel with projects and maintenance tasks as requested
Support maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, emergency generators, and lighting systems
Provide assistance with general maintenance issues, including basic plumbing and other facility-related repairs
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in facilities electrical maintenance
Experience supporting HVAC-related facility maintenance preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Valid U.S. driver’s license
Apprentice Electrical License (minimum requirement)
NFPA 70E training certification required
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance (active clearance preferred)
U.S. Citizenship required
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Experience working with electrical systems up to 600 volts
Strong working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
Experience with three-phase electrical systems
Proficiency using electrical testing equipment, including tools for relays, circuit breakers, and infrared scanning
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams
Experience with high-voltage switchgear and PLC programming preferred
Additional Skills
Strong organizational skills to maintain facility maintenance records and reports
Effective time management skills, including the ability to coordinate subcontractors and complete daily assigned tasks
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
Proficient in basic computer use, including email and electronic documentation
Excellent customer service and communication skills
