Job Summary

The HVAC Technician will perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This role involves troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

Qualified candidates should have experience working with ACUs, AHUs, heat pumps, VAV systems, DDC controls, and ventilation systems. Responsibilities include performing system tests, conducting equipment rounds, and analyzing data to ensure optimal performance.

Experience with chillers, boilers, and kitchen equipment is a plus. Additional duties include evaluating system performance, recommending improvements, maintaining a clean work environment, and completing assigned tasks while adhering to all safety standards.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with strong communication skills.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, service manuals, and sequence of operations
  • Monitor BMS systems and ensure efficient refrigerant system performance
  • Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, gauges, and charging systems
  • Braze refrigerant piping and lubricate mechanical components
  • Diagnose system issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Document work performed, including detailed service reports and recommendations
  • Maintain accurate logs for equipment operation, refrigerant usage, and system performance
  • Track inventory of filters, belts, and spare parts
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and clean work areas
  • Assist with major repairs and collaborate with maintenance teams
  • Follow OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE
  • Complete job hazard analyses prior to maintenance work
  • Participate in training and complete required documentation in a timely manner
  • Support on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-year HVAC technical certification or state-approved HVAC license preferred

Experience

  • Experience working on commercial and/or industrial HVAC systems

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • EPA Universal Refrigeration License required

Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
