State Licensed Fire Alarm Technician
Pay: $28-$32/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
Overtime: Available as project needs require
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Low Voltage Systems Technician to join our growing team. This position offers long-term, stable work installing, programming, servicing, and maintaining a wide variety of low voltage systems for commercial and institutional customers. Candidates must possess a valid State of Ohio Fire Alarm License and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team in the field.

Responsibilities
- Install, service, program, troubleshoot, and maintain low voltage systems including:
- Burglar alarm systems
- Fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional)
- IP and analog video surveillance systems
- Electronic access control systems
- Nurse call systems
- Audio-visual and paging systems
- Voice and data structured cabling
- Fiber optic cabling
- Telephone systems
- Networking equipment and related infrastructure
- Perform complete system installations, including:
- Pulling and terminating low voltage cabling
- Device installation and programming
- Equipment mounting and configuration
- System testing and commissioning
- Troubleshoot and repair existing low voltage systems to ensure proper operation and code compliance.
- Read and interpret:
- Blueprints
- Electrical drawings
- Building plans
- Manufacturer specifications and installation documents
- Verify all installations meet customer specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable local, county, state, and federal codes.
- Perform system testing and inspections to ensure proper functionality and compliance with legal and insurance requirements.
- Install and work with electrical conduit and related support systems when required.
- Configure basic networking equipment and assist with network-related troubleshooting.
- Perform basic PC setup, software installations, and device configuration as needed.
- Maintain accurate and professional communication with customers while addressing questions or concerns.
- Complete work assignments efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and always leave the job site in better condition than you found it.
Qualifications
- Valid State of Ohio Fire Alarm License (Required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience installing and servicing low voltage systems
- Familiarity with electrical tools, conduit installation, and wiring practices
- Basic understanding of networking equipment and IT concepts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Basic computer skills, including PC setup and software installation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and expand technical capabilities

Schedule & Overtime
- Monday through Friday schedule
