Structural Welder / Fitter
We are seeking an experienced Structural Welder / Fitter to help build large industrial annealing furnaces. This position is ideal for someone who is strong in structural fitting and welding, can read fabrication prints, and is comfortable working on large industrial equipment.
Structural Welder / Fitter Responsibilities
- Fit and weld structural steel components for large annealing furnaces
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding prints
- Perform structural steel fit-up, layout, and welding
- Fit and weld rolled exhaust duct and related components
- Ensure proper alignment, fit-up, and weld quality throughout fabrication
- Work with a variety of large industrial components and assemblies
- Perform additional mechanical work as needed throughout different phases of furnace construction
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Structural Welder / Fitter Qualifications
- Previous experience fitting and welding structural steel
- Strong ability to read and understand prints and fabrication drawings
- Experience fitting and welding large components and assemblies
- Experience with rolled ductwork or similar large fabricated components is preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform different types of industrial work
- Millwright experience is a strong plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication/installation team
- Must be flexible and willing to take on additional mechanical responsibilities when needed
