Senior Superintendent / Operations Oversight Manager

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced construction leader to oversee multiple active project sites and supervise Site Operations Managers on behalf of a highly respected Florida-based general contractor. This role is ideal for a proven construction professional with extensive field operations experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to safety, quality, and project execution excellence.

Position Summary

The Senior Superintendent / Operations Oversight Manager is responsible for overseeing one or more active construction job sites and supervising multiple Site Operations Managers. This role coordinates and monitors all field activities including manpower, subcontractors, equipment, materials, scheduling, productivity, and safety compliance.

The position works closely with senior leadership, project management, field engineering, estimating, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards.


Essential Responsibilities

Field Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations for multiple construction projects and job sites
  • Supervise Site Operations Managers, foremen, project engineers, assistant site managers, and field labor
  • Monitor productivity, manpower levels, sequencing, and project schedules
  • Assist with resolving field issues, design conflicts, RFIs, and change order concerns
  • Serve as liaison between field operations, project management, estimating, and subcontractors
  • Keep senior leadership informed of project status, risks, and operational challenges
  • Review project documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules during preconstruction and active phases
  • Ensure Site Managers complete all required paperwork, reporting, and daily logs

Safety & Compliance

  • Conduct Team Readiness Analysis and Jobsite Hazard Analysis prior to work activities
  • Lead jobsite safety initiatives and ensure OSHA compliance
  • Conduct routine jobsite walkthroughs to identify and eliminate hazards
  • Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, and accident investigations
  • Maintain safety documentation and records
  • Promote a strong culture of safety awareness and accountability across all projects

Project Coordination

  • Assist with sequencing of work, material planning, and equipment coordination
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and workforce efficiency
  • Ensure construction activities comply with plans, specifications, and company quality standards
  • Coordinate with internal departments to support project schedules and timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Assist in identifying and correcting contract document errors or omissions

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Construction scheduling
    • Cost control
    • Quality control
    • Safety regulations
    • Engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to lead and evaluate craft performance
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects and field teams
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Must be able to pass background checks and jobsite badging requirements
  • Must own and maintain a laptop
  • Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods as needed
  • Availability for emergency response situations and flexible scheduling when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four-year construction-related degree preferred
  • Equivalent technical training and industry experience considered
