Structural Fitter – Structural Steel & Weldments
We are currently hiring an experienced Structural Fitter for a 1st shift position. The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of verifiable experience fitting structural steel and large weldments and must be able to read blueprints fluently and pass a fitting test.
3–5+ years of relevant Structural Fitter experience is a minimum requirement. Must be able to MIG spray transfer weld. Candidates without this level of experience will not be considered.
Structural Fitter – Responsibilities
- Read and interpret a variety of blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and fabrication prints.
- Understand and accurately interpret all standard weld symbols.
- Fit and fabricate structural steel and large weldments according to blueprint specifications.
- Read and work from both standard and metric prints.
- Cope, cut, fit, and fabricate beams, columns, and other structural components.
- Perform tack welding to properly position and secure components.
- Work from operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
- Maintain accurate dimensions and proper alignment throughout the fitting process.
- Successfully complete a structural fitting test.
Structural Fitter – Requirements
- 3–5+ years of verifiable structural fitting experience required.
- Strong experience fitting structural steel and large weldments.
- Fluent blueprint and shop drawing reading skills.
- Strong understanding of weld symbols and fabrication terminology.
- Experience working with both standard and metric prints.
- Ability to pass a hands-on fitting test.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- OSHA 10 certification is a plus but not required.
- Welding certifications are a plus but not required.
